What does air conditioning have to do with fundraising?
PEOPLE DON'T LIKE TO SPEND MONEY WHEN THEY ARE COLD.
They also don't like to spend money when they are:
- Hungry
- Bored
- Too drunk
- Tired
- Did I say hungry?
The thing about fundraising is people have to be in a GOOD MOOD to donate their hard-earned cash.
Which means your food needs to be delicious and plentiful, the speeches brief, the drinks free-flowing but not TOO much booze and the programme needs to end before 9.30pm.
And please crank the heating up, nobody's in the mood to donate when they are shivering. I'm so over freezing cold ballrooms where people want to leave before the fundraising even starts.
